California Bail Bond Calculator
Start with the bail amount listed by the court. The estimate below illustrates a bond premium—not the full bail deposit, a down payment, or a binding quote.

Bail amount set by the court, in U.S. dollars.
This illustration uses 7% of the full bail amount. It is not a confirmed company rate or a promise of eligibility for a discounted premium.

Before relying on an estimate
California bail bond premiums are regulated by the California Department of Insurance. The independent agent must use the applicable surety’s filed rate and follow its eligibility rules. The illustrative 7% calculation does not establish the rate available in your case.
Discounts and payment plans are available for those who qualify. A payment plan spreads an agreed premium over time; it does not automatically lower the total cost. Ask the agent to explain the total premium, amount due to start, remaining balance, installment dates, and any permitted charges in writing.
A bail bond premium is generally nonrefundable once the bond is posted, even if charges are dismissed. Collateral is separate from the premium, and its return depends on the bond and agreement. A calculator cannot determine whether bail is available or whether a hold prevents release.
